Education Assistant

We have a full-time and permanent opening for our 2025/2026 school year for a grades 7-12 education assistant. The successful candidate will join our great team of caring and spiritual professionals. OCS is experiencing consistent enrolment growth and innovative facility updates. Ideal candidates will be Certified Education Assistants and be a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The desired qualities include classroom experience, personal spiritual conviction, strong communication and organization skills, passion for education, and a commitment to Adventist values. 

 

 

Early Childhood Educator for our Grow Zone Preschool & After-School Care Program

Are you passionate about nurturing young minds in a faith-based environment? We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team for our Grow Zone preschool and after-school care program for the 2026/2027 school year.

Position Overview:

  • Hours: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Preschool), 3:15 PM – 5:15 PM (After-School Care)
  • Responsibilities:
    • Manager of both programs, including dealing with childcare funding and reporting. 
    • Develop and implement age-appropriate, engaging programming for both preschool and after-school care that supports the spiritual, social, and cognitive growth of each child.
    • Collaborate with the Kindergarten teacher to create a cohesive learning environment that prepares children for school readiness.
    • Supervise children during both preschool and after-school sessions, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and positive atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in Early Childhood Education
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting
  • A love for working with children in a faith-centered environment
  • Be an active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Business Manager 

We have a full-time and permanent opening starting July 1, 2026 for a Business Manager. The successful candidate will join our administrative team as we lead the school towards God's plan and people towards discovering and fulfilling their God-given purpose. Ideal candidates will have experience with non-profit finance, building maintenance, contract and project management, and fundraising. The desired qualities include excellent project management skills, detail-oriented, eclectic skillset, strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, proficiency with technology (ex. Microsoft Excel), and a commitment to seeing OCS thrive for many years to come. Candidates must be a baptized member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. 

Job Duties Include:

  • Liaise with finance personnel to ensure all financial accounting systems, bookkeeping, charitable status, statutory requirements, audit, and funds are processed appropriately;

  • Present finance and facility reports as required at Board and Constituency meetings; 

  • Oversee property maintenance (ex. janitorial, landscaping, safety and accessibility, pest control, snow removal);

  • Ensure optimal performance of all systems (ex. HVAC, plumbing, irrigation, security, electrical) through reliable, approved contractors/volunteers;

  • Ensure the building is kept in good repair (roof, windows, doors, structure, etc.); 

  • Manage board-approved renovation projects, ensuring completion is on time and on budget; 

  • Oversee and manage maintenance volunteers, including school work bees; 

  • Be the primary contact for all building/security concerns, including after-hours emergency calls; 

  • Manage facility-use lease agreements and be the primary liaison between tenants and administration/board; 

  • Create and maintain short and long-term maintenance plan manuals;

  • Monitor the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are sustainably managed;

  • Research and apply for grant funding opportunities as pertaining to building, property, or program enhancement; 

  • Liaise with current and potential donors to achieve fundraising goals regarding program and facility enhancement.
